Youth Sewing

This class is designed for young people who want to learn to sew or who may be self taught and would like some more structured beginner’s classes! Projects will vary each week, and we encourage these crafty kids to come up with different projects we can all work on together.

Classes generally run on 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month during school terms. Please check the dates listed here as some weekends may vary!

• Mastering machine speed
• Starting and stopping
• Securing threads
• Sewing straight lines
• Changing direction of sewing
• Sewing curves
• French seams
• Finishing seams (pinking shears, zig zag)
• Gathering
• Parts of the sewing machine
• Threading the sewing machine
• Cleaning the sewing machine
• Sewing terminology

Please wear closed in shoes and bring a water bottle and/or refreshments.
